PML-N Senior Vice President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, while endorsing the statement of Mian Nawaz Sharif, has said there is a lot of explanations needed to be sought from former president Pervez Musharraf regarding government's policy on the so-called "war on terror".

Commenting on Nawaz Sharif statement, wherein he had held Pervez Musharraf responsible for the ongoing militancy, especially in tribal areas, Hashmi said being a sovereign body parliament had the authority to summon of the former president.
"The decision to summon him for deposition before the parliament will only be taken by the Parliament. It is the Parliament, which can debate and decide the issue," he remarked. Javed Hashmi strongly condemned the military operation in Tribal areas and stressed the need for dialogues. He said the government should dialogue with those people who would lay down arms. Special attention should be given to development of the tribal areas, he urged.
