Federal cabinet meets today

The federal cabinet is scheduled to meet here on Wednesday to take up the issues of security and on-going operation against militants in northern part of the country. Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani will chair the meeting.
The Interior Ministry's officials will give a detailed briefing to the cabinet on the steps taken by the government to protect the lives and property of the people. The cabinet will also be briefed on the ongoing operation in northern part of the country. The meeting will also review law and order situation in other parts of the country.
The cabinet will be given a presentation by the Finance Ministry officials on the economic situation of the country. It will cover the revenue collection and remittances received in the first quarter of the current fiscal year from overseas Pakistanis.
The cabinet will also be briefed on discussions between the government of Pakistan and international donor agencies on financial matters.
