Terror victims: Hashwani group announces to establish 'Global Sahara Fund'

A 14-ft high wall will be constructed around the Marriot Hotel to make security more foolproof. This was stated by Sadruddin Hashwani, owner of Marriot Hotel while addressing a press conference here on Tuesday. He said that after the powerful Marriott blast on September 20, the hotel management has decided to take various measures to provide impregnable security to its customers and employees.
"No vehicle would be allowed to enter the hotel and parked in a separate parking lot to be constructed soon", he said. Replying to a question regarding acquisition of the plot behind hotel to construct safe entrance and parking lot, he said that the government has assured full co-operation to the hotel management.
He further said that an amount of Rs 10 million has been collected by the Hashoo Group through its Sahara Fund established to help the victims of Marriott blast. Besides, $31,000 would be donated by some Russian families for the victims, he said, adding this money would not only be spent on the hotel victims but also on people who were affected during the blast.
He informed the blast victims to contact him for assistance. Hashwani said that so far Rs 61 million have been spent on blast victims. Chehlum of all the people who lost their lives in the blast would be held at the Marriott hotel on October 30.
