Zabmun Conference 2008: Sindh produces leaders of great stature: Khuhro

Sindh province has produced leaders of the great stature, like Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto who immensely served the country This was stated by Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro while addressing opening ceremony of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Model United Nations (Zabmun) Conference 2008 at Liaquat National Convention Centre on Tuesday.
The students of today, Khuhro said, had more resources, opportunities, access to the most state-of-the-art technological facilities and, of course, daunting challenges ahead as compared to the ones in past. He hoped that constructive activities, like Zabmun Conference would help the students follow the footprints of their great national leaders, like Jinnah and Bhutto.
Terming Sindh the land of leaders, scholars, Sufis and intellectuals, the speaker said the province had given birth to many national heroes. He advised the students to play leading role in the development of the crises-hit Pakistan.
Earlier, Secretary General Zabmun Hassan Ali and Deputy Director Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) Azra Maqsood welcomed the delegates of Zabmun 2008.
Over 370 student delegates have arrived in Karachi to participate in the three-day conference from across the country. The delegates are tentatively scheduled to attend various training and delegate info sessions containing movie shows, open frequency shows, talent shows, dramas and debate on divergent national and international issues of a socio-economic, politico-security, environmental and humanitarian nature. Reportedly, Provincial Information Minister Shazia Atta Marri would be the chief guest at closing ceremony of the conference on Thursday, October 16.
