CCPO orders special arrangements at exit, entry points

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Muhammad Pervez Rathore, has asked police officers to make all out efforts to curb terrorist activities and other heinous crimes and they must be fully alert to control any untoward situation. Special arrangements have been made at exit and entry points of the city to keep a vigil on suspicious elements and more than eight thousand officials have been deployed for security purpose in the provincial metropolis.
Moreover, he was presiding over a meeting to review security arrangements in the wake of prevailing situation in the country. Expressing his views over public responsibilities he said that masses can play vital role in foiling saboteur activities of anti-social elements, adding that they should immediately respond if they witnessed any suspect or unclaimed items around them. The CCPO directed divisional SPs to ensure that suspicious and unattended vehicles were searched and passengers frisked at bus stands and railway stations.
He maintained that strict legal action would be taken against the bomb hoaxers as arrangements had been made to trace their calls. He informed that government offices, busy areas, markets, bus and wagon stands, hotels and guesthouses were being effectively monitored and eight thousand police officials besides Mobiles Squads, Muhafiz Force as well as Traffic Wardens had also been directed to be vigilant and intensify patrolling.
Furthermore, he said that all SPs would be responsible for maintaining law and order situation and round the clock patrolling in their respective areas. All SPs would also monitor the performance of their subordinate deployed at important places, he added.
