Mepco manager operations Muzaffargarh ordered an enquiry into the allegations against its two employees accused of extorting bribe from consumers, on Tuesday.
The manager operations Mepco, Barkat Ali Shahid, received complaints from Ghulam Farid, Abdul Hafeez and other consumers that meter inspector Din Muhammad and meter reader Naseer Sial intimidated them and extorted money amounting to Rs 30,000. The manager operations Mepco Muzaffargarh has appointed deputy manager operations to probe the matter and submit report at the earliest.
