A suicide bomber in the wee hours of Thursday rammed an explosive laden car into Mingora Police Station killing four persons and injuring 29 others. The blast also damaged building of the Mingora Press Club, offices of Daily Aazadi, Khyber News, Samma TV and ATV, over 200 shops and dozens of nearby building including two mosques and a primary school.
The police collected some parts of the body and sent to forensic laboratory for tests. District Police Officer Swat Dilawar Khan Bangash told reporters in Mingora, capital city of Swat District, that the terrorists first attacked the police station with rockets followed by hitting the building with explosive material dumped in a flying coach.
Those who died in the blast included three Frontier Constabulary troops Muhammad Ijaz, Mujahid, Riaz and Police ASI Naeem Khan. While the injured included 14 FC troops, 13 police officials and two employees of Daily Aazadi Suhail and Salih Muhammad. The injured have been shifted to Saidu Sharif hospital and admitted where conditions of the few FC and police officials are stated to be critical.
