Government decides to expand federal cabinet

20 Oct, 2008

The government has decided in principle to expand the federal cabinet by inducting 20 new either federal or state ministers from the coalition parties. According to sources, consolations with the coalition partners have been completed in this regard and it is likely that the new ministers would take oath by Tuesday.
The matter of the cabinet expansion has remained in pending since Pakistan Muslim League-N and PPP-led collation government had some disputes in May over reinstatement of the sacked judiciary to the November 2, position. Out of the 20 new cabinet portfolios, 13 would be given to PPP, four to MQM, one each to Fata, JUI and ANP.
