The concluding session of a two-day corporate training programme on 'Cost Reduction Techniques for Competitiveness and Profit Maximisation' arranged by National Productivity Organisation (NPO) in collaboration with Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC) and Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) was held on Saturday.
Major objectives of this training programme was to identify the hidden cost prevailing in the industry and to guided the industry people to become more cost competitive enabling them to enhance their export.
Moreover, the event was aimed at unlocking the hidden factors (cost of poor quality), utilising various quality and productivity tools and techniques. The Senior Vice President, SCCI, Zia Ullah Mirza said to the house that Pakistan has a huge base of 3.2 million SMEs employees, while 78 percent are of non-agricultural labour force.
