Launching of air service from Dera Ismail Khan lauded

Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Interior Senator Talha Mahmood welcomed the launch of air service from Dera Ismail Khan saying that this was a pressing demand of the people of this area from a long time, which was accepted.
Air service should be started from Bannu to provide air-travelling facility to the public and make movement easier, Talha Mehmood said while talking to a group of journalists. He lauded the efforts of Maulana Fazal ur Rehman, Chairman, Parliamentary Kashmir Committee for air service from Dera Ismail Khan to Peshawar and Islamabad. This will make the journey easy for the people of this area and they have access to their representatives in federal and provincial capitals.
Talha Mehmood said that people of these areas suffered from last seven years because of unavailability of air services. Provision of basic facilities to general public is basic responsibility of the government and depriving them from basic rights will have negative effects on the socio-cultural life of the general public.
He said that no one can deny the importance of Southern districts of NWFP so it is necessary to provide Railway, roads and air service to link them with mainstream. He called upon government of NWFP and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to make sure the renovation of the Dera Ismail Khan Airport.
