Tarin for judicious spending of public money

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance Shaukat Tarin has said that the country is facing tremendous economic challenges and cannot afford increase in the expenditures. He stated this while briefing the Finance Committee of the National Assembly, which held here on Tuesday to review the expenditures for the current financial year (2008-09).
Tarin proposed to the committee to spend public money judiciously. The committee decided to adopt austerity measures, remain within the budgetary limits and strictly observe rules while incurring expenditure.
National Assembly Speaker Dr Fehmida Mirza presided over the meeting, which was attended by MNAs Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, Fouzia Wahab, Azeem Daultana, Asma Arbab Alamgir, Mohsin Ali Qureshi, Begum Ishrat Ashraf, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Chaudhry Saud Majeed, Malik Abrar Ahmed, Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan, Farkhanda Amjad, Bushra Rehman, Iqbal Muhammad Ali Khan, Mufti Ajmal Khan, Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, Saeed Ahmed Zaffar and Secretary, Ministry of Finance.
