Pak-Afghan jirga to help address common problems

Eminent political analyst, Dr Mehdi Hassan on Thursday said both Pakistan and Afghanistan are victims of terrorism and convening of the joint jirga would help address the common problem. Pakistan and Afghanistan have decided to convene a mini Jirga in Islamabad on October 27-28 as part of their joint efforts to fight terrorism.
Talking to Voice of America, Hassan termed the upcoming session of Pak-Afghan Jirga as 'an encouraging development' and said both the countries need each other's co-operation to curb the menace of terrorism. He was confident that such initiatives would help restore peace and improve law and order situation in tribal areas of Pakistan besides strengthening bilateral relations.
