Speakers call to promote message of Maulana Rum

Speakers from different walks of life have stressed the need for promoting the thoughts, literatures and message of sufi poets like Jalaluddin Rumi due to present challenges being faced by Islam and Muslims. Addressing a function organised by Rumi Forum Pakistan here at Islamabad Club on the occasion of 802 birthday anniversary of Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan Dr Eynullah Madatli speaking on the occasion said Shamas Tabrezi and Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi were the symbol of spiritualism and they projected the same message of unity, brotherhood and tolerance among the people belonging to different walks of life and religions.
The ambassador said in the present circumstances, the people through out the world need to understand and comprehend the poetry of Maulana Rum for seeking the solutions to the problems being faced by the international community. He said most of the poetry of Maulana Rum is in Persian, but it is for every one living in any part of the world.
The ambassador appreciated the efforts of Rum Forum Pakistan for regularly organising the symposia and other functions to remember the work of Maulana Rum. Advisor to Prime Minister on Religious Affairs Allama Hamid Saeed Kazmi speaking on the occasion said in the present circumstances, there is need to project the real picture of a peaceful and tolerant Islam.
He said extremism is being wrongly associated with Islam as there is no room for extremist elements in the peaceful religion of Islam. Chairman Rumi Forum Harun Koken speaking on the occasion highlighted the salient features of work of Maulana Rum.
