District Co-ordination Officer (DCO), Fazeel Asghar has said that Punjab government is paying special attention towards the welfare of the farmers under the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif. He was addressing to the ceremony of draw being held for the Green Tractor Scheme here on Thursday.
Fazeel Asghar said that lot of facilities is being provided to small farmers and the Punjab government is giving the subsidy of Rs 200,000 on each tractor under this scheme. He said that 10,000 tractors would be provided to farmers in Punjab, out of which 241 tractors would be provided to the farmers of Multan.
He said that the subsidy of worth Rs two billion is given on the Green Tractors. He told that 4,360 applications were received in this regard. "The prosperity of the country is attached with the prosperity of the farmers", he added.
MPA Dr Muhammad Akhtar on this occasion said that federal and provincial government is busy in solving the problems of the farmers. Later DCO inaugurated the draw of the scheme by pressing a button on computer. A large number of farmers and other prominent figures of the city were present in the ceremony.
