Corps commander visits Kotri exercise area

Corps Commander Karachi, Lieutenant General Shahid Iqbal visited the exercise area near Kotri and urged the participating troops to train with utmost zeal to maintain edge overall adversaries. He was addressing the troops at the field firing and battle inoculation exercise 'Zarb-e-Al Ward' at Kotri field firing ranges on Saturday, says an ISPR press release.
It said the exercise is aimed at training the troops in various tactical operations under battlefield environment with a view to practice and adopt latest methodology and to judge the manoeuvrability of mechanised forces. Assets of Pakistan Air Force were also incorporated in the live firing exercise. A mechanised formation was visited at the Ranges while it was undergoing manoeuvre exercises with live firing as part of the biennial firing practice.
Speaking on the occasion, the Corps Commander said seizing of initiative by the tactical commanders at all levels, use of field craft and minor tactics, integration of modem techniques and innovative approach are the key to success to every military operation and troops must train keeping them in perspective. Earlier, on his arrival at the exercise area, General Officer Commanding, Major General Muhammad Mansha, received the Corps Commander.
