The Supreme Court of Pakistan has disposed of 377 cases whereas 245 new cases have been instituted during the period from Saturday to Friday (October 18 to 24). The Supreme Court of Pakistan at Principal seat disposed of 98 cases, at Lahore Branch Registry 214 cases, at Karachi Branch Registry 65 from Monday to Friday (October 20 to Friday October 24).
The backlog in the apex Court on September 17 was 16,670 cases. As 245 new cases were instituted during the period from Saturday to Friday. The progressive total of pending cases as on October 24 comes to 16,915 cases. Out of these, 377 cases were disposed of during the period from Monday (October 20) to Friday (October 24) which include 217 Civil Petitions, 49 Civil Appeals, 44 Criminal Petitions, 9 Criminal Appeals and 58 other cases.
