26 Oct, 2008

The Department of Food NWFP suspended the wheat quota of two flourmills one each in district Charsadda and Peshawar due to involvement in illegal business. The raid was conducted on the directive of the District Co-ordination Officer Peshawar.
A raiding party comprising Special Magistrate and Rationing Controller, Peshawar, conducted a surprise raid on Flourmills at Charsadda Road Peshawar the other day. The two flourmills ie Naguman and Shadab were found involved in illegal business.
It was detected during the raid that the Management of Naguman Flourmill was not grinding the official quota of wheat in their mill, rather grinding it from some where else irrespective of the fact that the management receives the official wheat quota from Food Department regularly.
Similarly, the management of Shadab Flourmill was found in hoarding of 150 bags of 49kg of Tarujabba Flourmills, packing/provision of official atta quota in bags having Punjab label and grinding of fine atta illegally from official wheat quota. The departments suspended wheat quota of both the mills and sealed the flourmills. The department has also registered ceases against the management of both the flourmills under the relevant Sections of law.
