CIA Police City Division have arrested 29 criminals of two Inter-Provincial gangs involved in various incidents of robbery, cash and motorcycle snatching, different street crimes in the guise of police.
Police have also recovered stolen cars, motorcycles, cash, mobile phones, truck and illegal weapons worth Rs 80 lac from their possession. During preliminary investigation the accused have confessed to their involvement in 79 incidents of heinous crimes in various provincial metropolis, including Jhelum, Sheikhupura, Rawalpindi, Mansehra, Peshawar, Abbotabad, Islamabad, Gujrat and Haripur Hazara. SSP Investigation Zulfiqar Hamid disclosed this while addressing a press conference at Investigation Headquarters Qilla Gujar Singh, here on Tuesday.
Moreover, he said that SP CIA Muhammad Umer Virk was also present on this occasion. He said that Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Muhammad Pervez Rathore, has directed SP CIA Muhammad Umer Virk to take action against those criminal gangs involved in murder, robbery, street crime, motorcycle lifting and snatching and other heinous crimes.
A team was constituted under the supervision of SP CIA Muhammad Umer Virk comprising Inspector Rais Ahmed and other police officials. Team collected the particulars of Inter District Muhammad Arif alias Bilal Safaya Dacoit gang and Zaheer alias Hakim Cash snatcher gang and nabbed 29 members of both the gangs.
It is worth mentioning here that ringleader of Arif alias Bilal Safaya Gang, Muhammad Arif had formed notorious and organised gang. Members of this gang managed to escape on truck after looting factories and goodown at gunpoint. Similarly Zaheer Hakim Snatcher Gang used to commit crime in the guise of police.
