Doctors protest arrest of colleague

Doctors of Services Hospital Lahore on Thursday blocked the Jail Road to protest against the arrest of their colleague Dr Shafqat by police in a case involving the death of a patient. Due to protest of doctors, traffic remained blocked for about two hours on the Jail Road and other adjoining roads, which caused hardships to the public.
The protesting doctors demanded withdrawal of murder case registered against Dr Shafqat. As a result of intervention of high officials, the doctors ended their protest. However, they announced that they would continue their protest till the withdrawal of case registered against their colleague. It may be mentioned that CMIT and Principal Services Hospital Lahore in their inquiries had found Dr Shafqat guilty of negligence that led to death of a patient.
