The profit after tax of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has increased to Rs 3.178 billion in the quarter ended September 30, 2008 as compared to Rs 3.012 billion earned in the corresponding period last year. The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Thursday declared that the earning per share increased to Re 0.62 in the period under review against Re 0.59 in the same period a year back.
According to the financial results, the company's revenue increased to Rs 16.610 billion in this period against Rs 15.780 billion in the same period last year. The company's operating cost reduced to Rs 12.056 billion against Rs 12.134 billion. The company's non-operating income declined to Rs 738.671 million in this quarter against Rs 1,127.378 million in the same quarter last year. The company's profit before tax increased to Rs 4.889 billion in this period against Rs 4.634 billion in the same period last year.
