Mirwaiz condemns arrest, torture of APHC leaders

31 Oct, 2008

All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, terming the arrest and torture of Hurriyet leaders as occupation authorities' frustration, has said that such tactics will not suppress Kashmiris' aspirations for freedom in occupied Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who was placed under house arrest by the occupation authorities to prevent him from chairing the meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir Co-ordination Committee, said this in a media interview in occupied Srinagar.
He maintained that people, who discounted peoples' sacrifices offered for the right to self-determination, would be considered as enemies of the sacred cause. "Whoever discounts sacrifices of Kashmiris shall be considered as enemy of our cause for which over 100,000 Kashmiris sacrificed their lives," Mirwaiz said.
