Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) treated 42 patients suffering from dengue fever during the last four months. According to hospital officials the patients mainly belonged to Haripur, Mansehra, KallerSaidan, Gujrat and Jehlum and their ages ranged between 2-50 years.
"These patients came to the hospital with complaints of fever and pain in the whole body and after treatment they were found as dengue patients. Two of the female patients were pregnant," officials added.
According to the officials 60 percent of these patients came with the complaints of bleeding from gums, 20 percent presented with bleeding from nose, 5 percent with vomiting of blood, 5 percent with severe headache, while 10 percent patients came with complaints of loose motions. Some of them also came with the complaints of decrease in platelets and white blood cells. All the patients have been discharged and no mortality took place, officials added.
