The University of Sindh has conducted pre entry test for admissions to all 55 disciplines for Bachelors Degree programme for the academic session 2009 on Sunday. The pre entry test was conducted at Allama I.I.Kazi Campus Jamshoro by Sindh University Testing Center.
8776 male and female candidates submitted their admission forms to seek admissions in Faculties of Natural Sciences, Commerce and Business Administration, Pharmacy, Education, Social Sciences, Arts, Islamic Studies.
The University sets-up 164 examination blocks at classrooms of all three floors of the Faculty of Arts building as well as in the main ground of the Campus. All the examination blocks were connected with a very sophisticated sound system and through the control room and instructions were issued to candidates regarding entry test in English, Sindhi and Urdu. Very prompt and vigilant security and administrative measures were taken at the Campus with the help of Police, Rangers Officials and also own security personnel of the University.
The University plied 150 point buses for students from different routes of Hyderabad, Latifabad and Qasimabad for Jamshoro to facilitate candidates by providing pick and drop facility and also shuttle bus service was provided to girl's students from Allama I.I.Kazi Chowk to Arts Faculty building. The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Mazharul Haq Siddiqui himself welcomed the candidates on their arrival at the campus.
He said that time is more important and valuable and added that youth must value the time and prepares them for winning on merit through competition. He said that the University has been providing facilities to youth to get higher education in disciplines, which will be catering needs of the time.
The University also provided first aid and for this purpose a medical unit with ambulance and doctors was set up at the Arts faculty building. The University of Sindh has displayed the results of pre entry test at the website at www.usindh.edu.pk with the help of Optical Mark Reader (OMR) on the same day in evening at 4.45 pm.
