Hoax bomb call creates panic at media building

Hoax bomb calls on Monday caused panic in the office of a local English language newspaper and a private television channel at Guru Mandir round about. After receiving information volunteers of Edhi, Cheepa and police officials of Soldier Bazaar police station, led by SHO Syed Ali Raza Kazmi, rushed to the office of 'The Nation' and 'Waqt TV'.
According to Kazmi, the police after receiving information about a planted bomb rushed to the office of the newspaper and got it vacated within no time to ensure thorough checking. A three-member bomb disposal squad led by Inspector Durrani also reached the spot at around 2:30 pm and declared the building as clear after searching each and every corner of it, he said. Durrani said his team had checked the entire building, but found no bomb.
