The shopkeepers are selling ghee and edible oil at higher rates and have not reduced the price of the commodities despite government's announcement to reduce the prices. Despite the official announcement, dealers were not selling ghee at the fixed rate of Rs 98 per kilogram and the price of the commodity has not been reduced both in local shops and Utility Stores Corporation (USC).
Similarly, the price of three-kg edible oil remained Rs 460 in the market. The dealers are of the view that they are selling the previous stock that was bought at a higher price adding that as soon as new stock comes in the market, prices would be reduced.
