06 Nov, 2008

The Swiss franc fell against the US dollar on Wednesday as the US currency gained across the board after Democrat Barack Obama won the US presidential election. "Ahead of the first results of the US presidential election risk appetite recovered," Credit Suisse analysts said in a note.
The franc fell 0.2 percent against the dollar from the New York close and was at 1.1645 per dollar, still off a one-year low hit earlier this week. The franc rose 0.5 percent against the euro, trading at 1.5010 per euro, but stayed well off the record high at 1.4301 per euro hit last week.
