First Rite to be set up in Lahore soon

Director General, Pakistan Rangers, Major General Muhammad Yaqub called on Chairman, National Vocational and Technical Education Commission (Navtec) Adnan A. Khawaja at his office in the Prime Minister's Secretariat and discussed with him to establish first Rangers Institute of Technical Education (Rite) in Lahore.
Talking on the occasion, the Chairman, Navtec, said that the present Govt. was attaching priority to the technical education and vocational training. Adnan A. Khawaja assured DG, Rangers that all possible help and assistance will be provided to Rangers for the establishment and functioning of the Rite.
It may also be noted that Navtec is also funding Khyber Institute of Technical Education (Kite), Balochistan Institute of Technical Education (Bite) and Lahore Institute of Education (Lite) for skill development. Major General Yaqub informed that the efforts were underway to establish Rite by January 1, 2009.
He assured that the quality technical education will be imparted in the Institute to the unskilled youth in various trades such as paramedics, auto-mechanic, tile-fixing, mobile-set repairing, welding, driving etc. DG was sure that the entire workforce, to be trained in Rite, would be absorbed in their department and other organisations. Executive Director, Navtec, Muhammad Athar Tahir was also present during the meeting.
