Shujaat's petition against Mukhtar adjourned till November 20

An election tribunal headed by a judge of the Lahore High Court has fixed November 20, for arguments on election petition of PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain against Federal Minister for Defence Ahmad Mukhtar of PPP. PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain who lost election for National Assembly seat NA-105, Gujrat, against Ahmad Mukhtar had moved the petition.
Chaudhry Shujaat requested to disqualify the respondent as he rigged the polling. He alleged that on the day of polling grave irregularities were committed in the constituency by the election authorities on the behest of respondent Ahmed Mukhtar.
He further alleged that the returning officer also considered a number of rejected votes in favour of Ahmad Mukhtar. He further pleaded that Ahmad Mukhtar was also a defaulter of Rs 635,162 against property tax so he should be declared as disqualified for contesting elections. Chaudhry Shujaat also prayed to declare him as a successful candidate.
