Sindh to regularise 15 Katchi Abadis soon: minister

The Sindh Minister Katchi Abadis Engr. Muhammad Rafique has said that the regularisation of 932 Katchi Abadis were being worked out by the Sindh Government while 15 Katchi Abadis at different places would be regularised within one to two months.
This he said while addressing a big public gathering organised to hand over the lease documents to the inhabitants of Shah Walliullah Katchi Abadi at Jamshoro road last night. Addressing the gathering, Engr. Muhammad Rafique said that he realised the difficulties of the inhabitants of Katchi Abadis as he himself belongs to a Katchi Abadi of Lyari Karachi, which had been regularised by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
He said that PPP government was committed to its slogan of Roti, Kapra Aur Makan and announced that in addition to establishing Sasti Basti at each district, all Katchi Abadis in the province would be regularised except those falling in dangerous zones. Besides, the regularising matter of Katchi Abadis, which required the N.O.C. from the government departments, has been taken to the concerned quarters.
He said that the PPP rejected the Kala Bagh Dam and launched Thar Coal Project to exploit the treasure of the black gold of Thar for the development of the country and prosperity of the people instead of pitching the provinces against each other through controversial projects.
Besides the programme to distribute government land amongst the land less farmers and women, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Income Support Programme, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Youth Development Programme and opening the doors of employment were the schemes carried out by PPP for the welfare of people.
He said that the people of this country had been continuously deprived of their basic rights since last 12 years as dictators had no consideration about their prosperity. The Sindh Minister for Fisheries Zahid Ali Bhurgri while addressing the ceremony announced that as many as one lakh jobs would be provided to the youth of Sindh province.
He said that feasibility report of the drainage schemes, roads, electricity, water supply and other infrastructure were being prepared for the development of Qasimabad and these schemes would be implemented under the Special Development Package of Rs one billion as announced by Sindh Chief Minister.
The Advisor to CM Sindh Mr Rashid Rabbani in his speech said that the PPP was a revolutionary party and working to bring economic and social changes in the country. He said that PPP during all difficult times had remained committed to people and worked for the people.
