The NWFP Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani on Friday handed over a consignment of 3000 warm coats and 150 burners to the NWFP Branch of Pakistan Red Crescent for distribution amongst the displaced persons of Bajaur Agency in relief camps set up in District Dir. Besides, the Governor also delivered a cheque, amounting to Rs one million for humanitarian activities of the organisation as well.
The relief goods, along with the cash amount have been managed by Owais Ahmed Ghani through his personal efforts and were received by Dr Sher Muhammad Khan, Chairman of the NWFP Branch of the Parc. The Governor, who is also the President of the provincial branch of Parc while talking on this occasion expressed the hope that the relief goods would prove helpful in further facilitating the displaced persons in this extreme cold weather in a area like District Dir.
