08 Nov, 2008

Provincial Auqaf and Religious Affairs Minister Haji Ehsanuddin Qureshi said on Friday that he favoured the suggestion that books published by private schools be scrutinised by a board of clerics and that publishers should obtain a no-objection certificate from them before printing them.
He said that this would help avoid incidents of resentment among the people. The minister said that the clerics working with the Auqaf Department would be made permanent and contract system was being abolished.
