08 Nov, 2008

Lahore Retailers and General Merchants Association (LRGMA) have strongly opposed the government's decision of closing down shops after 8:00pm refused to follow the new schedule planned for their business hours. 'No market in Lahore will observe this schedule,' the LRGMA said.
The decision was announced in a joint meeting of LRGMA and Muslim Traders Alliance held on Friday with the President, LRGMA, Rao Muhammad Akram Khan in the chair while office-bearers of 95 city markets attended the meeting, the LRGMA spokesman said. The meeting unanimously rejected to close their business in the city markets by 8:00 pm said they would co-operate if the government fixes the time to shutter the shops at 10:00 pm.
