Industrial sector: government urged to withdraw increase in power tariff

Chairman 'The Founders' Munir Ahmed Khan has demanded of the government to withdraw increase in electricity tariff for industrial sector, as it will further curtail the economic growth of the country.
While presiding over a meeting of The Founders, here on Sunday he said that the government should provide relief to the industry in order to increase the production which helpful to bring out the country from economic meltdown.
Senior vice chairman The Founders, Tahir Manzoor Chaudhry, senior vice president Haji Muhammad Asif, Javed Dar, Muhammad Hashim, Asif Rehan Dar, all candidates of Corporate and Associate classes were also present on this occasion.
Munir Ahmed Khan said that economy would start reviving soon and urged the business community to invest in Pakistan and bring back their money into the country. He said that The Founders-Azad Alliance would take such steps after winning chamber elections, which will be in favour of business community as well as for the country. The group will strongly protest all the steps taken by the government which will damage the industry, he added. Talking about the government action on money laundering issues, he said that the government has taken right step. He said that in the past no government has take action these influential who are involved in heinous crime of hundi. He said hundi mafia has sent more then 10 billion dollars aboard which aggravated the financial crunch in Pakistan. He urged the government to bring back the money to Pakistan and used it for the construction of mega water reservoirs.
Speaking on the occasion, Haji Asif has demanded the government to withdraw 0.03 percent tax from the cheques withdrawal. Due to this tax the business community is avoiding the banking facilities, he said adding that the government should withdraw GST from electricity bills.
