The commodities world over showed they moved both ways with slight edge, the Pakistan markets behaved in familiar fashion during the week ended on November 8, 2008. The opening day in Pakistan saw makai, sugar, masoor, urad, bajra, plastic mouldings etc bowing down in modest way under international impact.
Grain markets underwent fewer activity for lack of interest of the buyers in trade despite rates appeared favourable. Sugar prices were down by Rs 50 to Rs 3300 while better type was quoted at Rs 3500 and makai inferior type was sharply lower by Rs 75 to Rs 1750 while better kind shed Rs 25 to Rs 1825.
On Jodia Bazar plastic mouldings were showing down trend (per pound) HDPE injection sabric 200056 quoted at Rs 68, Mobile 016 closed lower Re 1 to Rs 52 and Iran shed same amount to Rs 52, HDPE blow Kuwait conceded Re 1 to Rs 51, Market shed Rs 2 to Rs 50, Iran conceded Rs 2 to Rs 50, LLDPE W118 closed lower by Re 1 to Rs 52, 7078 turned lower by Rs 2 to Rs 51, and Sabic 500026 went down by Rs 7 to Rs 65, polypropylene film Thai closed lower by Re 1 to Rs 52, Kuwait conceded Re 1 to Rs 52 and India shed Re 1 to Rs 52, polypropylene tape grade went down by Re 1 to Rs 49, Kuwait shed Re 1 to Rs 49, and Sandia shed Re 1 to Rs 49, polypropylene injection grade lost Re 1 to Rs 49, India shed Re 1 to Rs 49, and Kuwait shed Re 1 to Rs 49, polystyrene BASF closed Rs 300 down to Rs 3,700, and Pak quoted at Rs 3,508, Copoly black down by Rs 2 to Rs 54 and Randon lost Re 1 to Rs 65, High impact )per bag) Pak quoted at Rs 3904, ABS polylac 707 closed lower by Rs 50 to Rs 4,700, Iran lost Rs 100 to Rs 4550.
On Tuesday a couple of changes were seen in masoor Canada sharply lower by Rs 250 to Rs 10,000 while urad Burma lost Rs 50 to Rs 1900 and better type was quoted at Rs 2000, bajra inferior quality shed Rs 50 to Rs 1700 while the other type was quoted at Rs 2500.
On Wednesday trend remained same as rice and milk powder prices gave way -Irri 9 Punjab (old) low type conceded Rs 100 to Rs 4000 while better type shed Rs 400 to Rs 4100, Irri 9 Sindh new low type shed 700 to Rs 2800 while better lost Rs 600 to Rs 3000, basmati No 386 new lost Rs 100 to RS 4400 while better type was quoted at Rs 4500, super basmati Sindh low quality shed Rs 200 to Rs 6000 while superior variety shed Rs 30 to Rs 6200.
On Jodia Bazar milk powder Skimmed (per bag of 25 kg) Irish skimmed closed down by Rs 450 to Rs 8000, Poland quoted at Rs 6,500, Golden Burger closed down by Rs 500 and Holland shed Rs 500 to Rs 8500.
On Thursday grain and seede market remained event less, rates were unmoved.
On Jodia Bazar Kenyan tea showed mixed trend. The changes were: KENYAN TEA (per kg): PF-1 A Grade edged higher by Rs 10 to Rs 260, B Grade went up by Rs 10 to Rs 250 and plus C Grade ended down by Rs 3 to Rs 27. BP-1: A-1 Grade finished higher by Rs 20 to Rs 280 and B Grade moved upward by Rs 5 to Rs 260. D-1: A Grade closed down by Rs 10 to Rs 260 and B Grade went lower by Rs 10 to Rs 245. DUST: A Grade ended downward by Rs 10 to Rs 200.
On Friday there was no fluctuation reportable as market players were engaged in preparations for Juma prayers.

CHEMICALS (per kg): Sodium sulphate ended lower by 25 paisa to Rs 13.75, NJ Taiwan moved down by Rs 11 to Rs 181, formic acid Pak edged higher by Rs 5 to Rs 95, formic acid Germany went up by Rs 3 to Rs 128, oxalic acid China moved downward by Re 1 to Rs 78 and Citric Acid China ended lower by Rs 6 to Rs 82.
PETROLEUM JELLY: Sulphonic acid soft closed down by Rs 6 to Rs 148, sulphonic acid hard moved lower by Rs 2 to Rs 158, PVA Japan edged down by Rs 11 to Rs 253, Sitara caustic soda flakes finished higher by Rs 4 to Rs 46 and caustic Taiwan closed up by Re 1 to Rs 46.
RANGOLITE 'C' (per pound): China moved down by Rs 2 to Rs 63, Germany closed lower by Rs 2 to Rs 79 and India was quoted at Rs 42.
HYDROSULPHITE: Germany moved higher by Rs 4 to Rs 170 and India edged lower by Rs 6 to Rs 104.
HYDROGEN PEROXIDE (35 percent): Korea was quoted at Rs 52.80 and Thailand closed lower by Rs 7 to Rs 50.

HYDROSULPHITE: Germany moved higher by Rs 4 to Rs 170 and India edged lower by Rs 6 to Rs 104.
HYDROGEN PEROXIDE (35 percent): Korea was quoted at Rs 52.80 and Thailand closed lower by Rs 7 to Rs 50.
On Saturday wheat went up by Rs 25 to Rs 2850-2865, other commodity items did not moveon the ceral counter. On the seed side, rapessed Nawabshah low type was higher by Rs 200 to Rs 1800 and good type gained Rs 250 to Rs 1850, Dadulane was up by Rs 50 to Rs 1400-1450, Mirpurlane low quality rose by Rs 225 to Rs 1750 and best type was higher by Rs 150 to Rs 1770, rapeseed cake low type gained Rs 50 to Rs 750 and good type was up by Rs 35 to Rs 760, however, the best quality of til was lower by Rs 50 to Rs 3600 while the low quality retained its overnight level at Rs 3300, they said.
On Jodia Bazar Kirana items showed mixed trend. The changes were:
KIRANA ITEMS (per 40 kg): White pepper closed down by Rs 50 to Rs 16,350, nutmeg edged higher by Rs 50 to Rs 14,850 and cloves moved upward by Rs 100 to Rs 17,100.
