On the directives of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) is constructing two ladies parks of international standard in F-7 and F-10. CDA Chairman Tariq Mehmood while inaugurating water sports facilities at Lakeview Park here on Tuesday stated this.
He said that these parks were especially constructed for ladies and would be equipped with all sort of recreational facilities such as gyms, swimming pools, jogging tracks, basketball courts etc. The restaurants and other edible shops inside the park would also be run by the ladies. Besides, the park management and security would also be looked after by the women.
Talking to media, Tariq said that the authority was trying to provide more recreational spots/parks to the residents of Islamabad. He said that for tourist attraction and to provide more water sports facilities to the masses, the Lakeview Park had been equipped with 15 water scooters, and four new boats imported from Europe and the US.
Besides, to ensure the life security of people life Guards and life-saving jackets had been provided to the management of the Lakeview Park, he added. Tariq further said that after the completion of phase II of the park, more water sports facilities, food courts, train, swings, walking tracks and horse riding amenities would be provided in the park.
He said the CDA was also planning to establish Disney Land and Theme Park in the capital. Talking about chairlift project in the capital, he said that the authority had completed its feasibility. He also that Islamabad would be connected with Haripur through a tunnel.
"I also have directed the concerned departments that beside constructing beautiful parks in sector I and G series, they should also establish such facilities in Chak Shehzad Modern village and Margalla town. Member, Environment, CDA, Mazhar Hussain; Director, Parks, Malik Abid Mehmood; senior director Rawal Khan Maitla and other officials were present on the occasion.
