Teaching science & technology at grass root level stressed

'If we want prosperity and development in our country we will have to promote Science and technology at the grass roots level.' Professor Anwar-ul-Haq chairman Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Faisalabad said this while addressing a function organised in connection with World Science Day at Science Centre Faisalabad (SCF).
He said that use of scientific technology has increased our per acre yield from 5-6 maund to 20-25 maund while fully developed western countries are still getting 80-90 maund per acre yield only due to their scientific breakthrough. He said that science is serving in all fields of life while its role has been enhanced in health, information technology and environment issues during recent years.
He said that universities and research institutions are spending huge funds on its promotion; however, it is need of the hour to promote science subjects at grass root level by convincing new generation to switch over to the science subjects.
