Samjhauta Express blast: Indian army officer being interrogated

A serving senior officer of Indian army Lieutenant Colonel Shrikant Purohit is being questioned on his possible involvement in Samjhauta Express blast in which 68 persons, mostly Pakistanis were killed in February 2007. He was arrested in connection with Malegaon blast outside a mosque, which killed eight persons on September 29.
His involvement in other blasts in Muslim areas is also being probed. The Mumbai Anti-Terror Squad has so far arrested nine persons in connection with the Malegaon blast. Media reports said some clues have been found that Purohit had established links with Hindu outfits including Abhinav Bharat, which has about 5000 members in India. More army officers including some politicians belonging to right-wing parties will be probed for their possible links with blasts occurred in Muslim localities of India, media reports said.
