Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Vice President Begum Tehmina Daultana on Thursday lauded the services of an NGO for maternity health in the district. Addressing a function organised by NGO "Paiman", she said that USAID and the NGO had been working shoulder-to-shoulder with the Punjab Government in the fields of health and education.
The PML-N leader said the provincial government had taken many steps for welfare of farmers, adding, "as an agri-based country we can not progress unless our farm sector is developed to capacity." She said the Chief Minister's green tractor scheme under which 10,000 tractors were being provided to farmers on subsidised rates, was paying dividends through increased wheat cultivation this year, which would lead to food autarky as well.
