The Citizens Foundation (TCF) was awarded the Community Service Award at the 5th Annual KFC Teachers Convention, held recently, for its constant endeavours to bring about an enduring change for communities with greatest need through the power of quality education.
Established in 1995, with five schools operating in the following year, TCF now boasts of 530 school units in 63 locations all over Pakistan, including Jammu and Kashmir, with 65,000 students and almost 50 per cent female enrolment ratio. The Foundation provides training to thousands of teachers and principals countrywide, and its Placement Program offers financial assistance to students for higher education.
This year the Foundation has also initiated a mentoring program 'Rahbar', which aims at the development of TCF students. "We take immense pleasure and pride in receiving this award as along with being a commendable achievement on TCF's part, it is also a great morale booster for the 3,550 all-female faculty members who work very hard to provide quality education at all 530 TCF School Units," said TCF Vice President Dr Ahson Rabbani.-PR
