Vice Chancellor Punjab University Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran visited Allama Iqbal (Old) Campus hostels on Thursday upon receiving complains from the students that they could not get possession of the allotted rooms there.
Vice Chancellor along with Chairman Hall Council Professor Dr Saeed Ahmad Nagra and other teachers visited the hostels and warned the students illegally occupying rooms to vacate them. Hostel warden Dr Jamshaid Ahmad and Superintendent Dr Qamar Zaidi were also present on the occasion.
During the visit former nazim IJT and illegal occupant of a room Abdul Hafeez Tahir, along with other "outsiders" allegedly mistreated VC and other senior teachers. Punjab University students captured one of them while other outsiders tried to run off from there.
Sabir Hussain of Punjabi department was chased, caught and beaten up by other students and was handed over to university administration while Abdul Hafeez Tahir got injured while climbing the wall. He got some injuries and was shifted to Mayo Hospital. University administration handed over them to police.
