BMG Teli group likely to win all 30 KCCI MC seats

The Businessmen Group (BMG), of Siraj Kassim Teli faction is likely to win unopposed all 30 seats of managing committee of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI). The Election Committee of the Chamber had received total of 52 nomination papers, against 30 vacant seats of the managing committee till last date, November 13, 2008, for receiving nomination papers.
Out of 52 nomination papers, members of Teli group BMG had filed 50, while the remaining two nominations were filed by two independent candidates. Sources said that out of 50 nomination papers of BMG Tali group 20 would withdraw their nomination papers while on independent candidate has already withdrawn his nomination papers.
The remaining independent candidate is also likely to withdraw his nomination paper, sources hinted BMG Teli group has been winning all seats of managing committee for last 11 years. During last two years Teli group won all managing committee seats unopposed.
President Anjum Nisar, Senior Vice President Jawed Bilwani and Vice President Mohammed Ali of KCCI are likely to contest election of office bearers to hold their present seats and complete one year as President, Senior Vice President and Vice President respectively. They are also likely to be elected unopposed.
According to election schedule announced by election committee, election of president, senior vice president and vice president will be held on November 27, 2008. However, if the only independent candidate refuses to withdraw, then polling for 30 seats of managing committee will be held on November 22, 2008.
