World's renowned Qari, Syed Sadaqat Ali with his soul stirring Qirat, touched the hearts of the parliamentarians at the start of the National Assembly proceedings on Friday, who could not resist paying tributes to him. Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Dr Babar Awan thanked the speaker and the deputy speaker for inviting Qari to recite the Holy Quranic verses in the house.
Holder of President's Pride of Performance award, Sadaqat is an internationally renowned Qari, who has recited Quran all over the world and won numerous Qirat competitions in different countries.
Parliamentary proceedings are always open with recitation from the Holy Quran and there is a very limited number of Qaris, who recite the Quranic verses in the National Assembly or the Senate. 'Allah Almighty has given the Qari sahib immensely touching voice and the speaker has done a great favour to the house by nominating him for the recitation of the Quran,' Awan said.
Sahibzada Fazal Karim also lauded the chair for selecting Qari Sadaqat for Qirat in the National Assembly. He said it was an honour for the house to have a Qari of Sadaqat's calibre for the recitation.
