Pakistan, UK foreign minister discuss bilateral relations

Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Friday met Bill Rammell, Britain's State Minister on Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs in New York and discussed with him bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest.
In a meeting held on the sidelines of the high-level session of General Assembly, Foreign Minister Qureshi said Pakistan attached great importance to its long standing cordial relations with UK, which represent shared values and commonality of perceptions on many regional and global issues. He said the presence of a large Pakistani diaspora in United Kingdom further cements this relationship.
The foreign minister also appreciated the proactive role and support being extended by Britain at the Friends of Democratic Pakistan Forum. Bill Rammell appreciated Pakistan's role in the war against terrorism and assured Britain's continued support to all aspects of bilateral relations including trade, development assistance and investment in Pakistan.
