The Capital City Police Chief, Mohammad Pervez Rathore has directed the divisional SPs to take strict measures against the owners of brothels and gambling dens. Presiding over a meeting of police officers on Monday, he directed the officers to expedite the campaign against the owners of brothels and gambling dens, besides taking action against the proclaimed offenders and court absconders.
Further, he asked the officers to keep an eye on the notorious places being used for brothels and gambling dens and keep strict vigil on notorious city hotels, where the aforesaid activities are secretly going on. Rathore said that the officers should have liaison with the notables of the area and win their confidence with regard to eliminating crime from the society.
'Lahore police should set an example by involving the citizens in the gigantic task of fighting crime so as to discourage all immoral acts happening around the city that are against Islamic teachings,' he said.
Further, he asked the officers to prepare a list of those officers and officials, who are directly or indirectly involved in the said activities, so that strict legal departmental action could be initiated against them. Rathore said that black sheep in police uniform could not be tolerated at any cost as, such officers and officials bring shame to the whole police department.
