The Punjab Government's Science Education Centre is organising a three-day Science Fair in the provincial metropolis from tomorrow (on Monday), to select students for participation in the Provincial, National and International Science Fairs. The International Science Fair would be held in May 2009 in the USA.
The Fair Co-ordinator Saba Gulzar told Business Recorder, here on Saturday that as many as 60 students of the public and private sector's schools from Lahore are taking part in the fair while such fairs have already been held in Faisalabad, Multan and Rawalpindi.
The projects in different science subjects including Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics and Computer Sciences would be presented at the fair, she said. The provincial level competition would be held on December 17-19 and the winning students would participate in the national level fair to be held in January 2009.
As many as five students across the country would be selected on the basis of their projects for participation in the US Science Fair being held in collaboration with the Intel Education in May 2009.
Two students would present their research projects on individual basis while three would take part as team members, she added. She further said the senior faculty members of respective subjects would perform as judge at the fair who would select winning students. The chief guest would award certificates to the participating students, she added.
