President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Anjum Nisar has assured business community that the newly-elected body of the chamber will leave no stone unturned for resolving problems of business community.
Speaking at the 47th annual general meeting of the chamber, he said that business community facing number of problems including high rates of interest, high power tariff, tight monitory policy, law and order situation, declining industrial production, tough completion in export market are some of the issues which will be taken up with the government on priority bases.
He advised business community to bring their issues with suggestion of resolving them so that they should be taken up with concern ministries and organisations. He said that he was elected by the managing committee as president of the chamber about two months ago and now elected unopposed along with Senior Vice President Muhammad Jawed Bilwani and Vice President Mohammed Ali for the year 2008-09.
He condemned terrorists attack in Mumbai and expressed sympathies with the people of Mumbai and India Leader of Businessmen group, Siraj Kassam Teli congratulated elected governing body and office bearers of KCCI and said that it is their responsibility to serve business community irrespective of their affiliation with business community groups.
He said that the business community facing serious problems of high markup rates, power, gas tariffs issues and extremely high input cost industries, serious law and order problems and advised managing committee to take up these issues with the concern government minister and organisation.
