UNHR Award to be conferred on Benazir

United Nations High Commission for Human Rights has formally communicated to President Asif Ali Zardari the decision to confer UN Human Rights Award to former prime minister Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. The prestigious award will be given at the plenary meeting of the General Assembly at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
A press release issued by the UN Human Rights Commission describes Benazir Bhutto as an ardent advocate for democracy and human rights of the most vulnerable sections of the society, particularly women, children and minorities rights.
