Airport Security Force (ASF) took a passenger into custody who had made a call to the plane crew from his cellular phone that a bomb was planted in Multan bound Boeing PK-385 flight coming from Lahore which would explode within half an hour.
The Captain of the flight immediately informed the Multan airport staff who called the bomb disposal squad, fire fighters, civil defence and airport security force. As soon as the flight reached Multan airport at 10.32 am on Friday the plane was searched but no bomb was found. The caller Salim Naimat-ullah, a passenger was taken into custody for interrogation.
He was actually a resident of Ali Daulat Square, North Nazimabad Karachi but now living in Multan at Chowk Kumharanwala for the last five years. He is a trader of Peter-Pumps at Chowk Shaheedan. According to Tariq Khan In charge of ASF "we are interrogating the passenger to know the factual position".
He had firstly stated that someone had rung him to inform that a bomb was planted in the flight but he is unable to disclose the name of his friend who phoned him. He told a steward secretly that a bomb was planted in the 385 flight, which would explode in next 30 minutes as he had received a call. His mobile phone No 0300-7334422 was also taken into custody.
