Central Finance Secretary of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Muhammad Pervaiz Malik has said that PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif is paying heavy price for peace and stability in the country. Speaking at a party meeting, here on Friday, Malik said.
"Mian Nawaz Sharif is being kept away from parliament, but he will continue to play his positive role for strengthening of democracy, supremacy of the Constitution and forging national unity."
He said there was no legal position of cases registered against Mian Nawaz Sharif and he (Nawaz) could not be stopped from raising voice for the independence of judiciary and rule of law by tactics like making offers of withdrawing cases against him if he remained silent in Farah Dogar case. He said Mian Nawaz Sharif was man of principles and would never compromise on national interests.
About appointment of acting Punjab Governor, he said: "Had the judiciary been independent, no other person could have been appointed as acting governor in the presence of the Punjab Assembly Speaker." He said that Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer enjoyed support of the President House in his undemocratic moves, aimed at creating instability in Punjab.
