Women parliamentarians condemn terrorism: resolution passed

Pakistan women parliamentarians caucus has passed a unanimous resolution condemning terrorism in all its forms and manifestation and has urged the regional governments to eliminate poverty, unemployment and social injustices from their respective countries.
The resolution urges governments of Pakistan and India and the international community to work together to curb terrorism and resolve outstanding disputes. The resolution stressed women leaders in India and Pakistan to play proactive role for peace in the region.
Addressing the meeting, the Madam Speaker said that the country's development and prosperity depend on empowerment of women. She said that there was 26 percent of women representation in Parliament who should play their role to bring a meaningful change in the fate of womenfolk in the county.-PR
